Postponement of Certain High Court Hearings

As a result of a shortage of judges in the High Court, the President of the High Court has announced that it is necessary to redeploy judges from their designated duties so as to ensure that trials in the Central Criminal Court, Family Law, Wards of Court and Commercial List cases do not have to be postponed. As a result, it is regretted that all cases in every other High Court list are at risk of having to be adjourned at short notice.

Certain cases listed before the Arbitration Judge and the Admiralty Judge on the 10th and 17th July 2018 are postponed and trial dates vacated. These cases will be listed for mention before Mr Justice Barniville and Mr Justice McDonald respectively on 31st July 2018 to have new trial dates assigned.

All cases which are listed for trial in the Dublin Non-Jury list for the dates between the17th and the 20th July 2018 inclusive are postponed and the trial dates vacated. These cases will be listed for mention before Mr Justice Noonan on 31st July 2018 to have new trial dates assigned.

Judicial Review cases listed for trial in Dublin during that period will proceed on the dates assigned.

Non-Jury and Judicial Review cases listed for trial in Cork will proceed on the dates assigned.

We would suggest that you check the Courts website for the full list of cancellations and changes.
